Zelikow has admitted that the US public has been terrorized by nonexistent threats: "I'll tell you what I think the real threat [is] and actually has been since 1990 – it's the threat against Israel," Zelikow told a crowd at the University of Virginia on September 10, 2002, speaking on a panel of foreign policy experts assessing the impact of September 11 and the future of the war on al-Qaeda.
"And this is the threat that dare not speak its name, because the Europeans don't care deeply about that threat, I will tell you frankly. And the American government doesn't want to lean too hard on it rhetorically, because it is not a popular sell," said Zelikow. – Asia Times 9/11 was "The New Pearl Harbor" – a made-for-television spectacular, complete with amazing pyrotechnic special effects and the on-screen murder of almost 3,000 extras.
The question is, who wrote the script?
My best guess: Philip Zelikow – the man Obama just appointed to the President's Intelligence Advisory Board.
Zelikow describes himself as an expert in the "creation and maintenance of public myths." He defines "public myth" as a "public presumption" about history that may or may not be true, but which nevertheless exerts a powerful influence on public opinion, and through that influence affects history.
Zelikow gives the official account of Pearl Harbor – the story of the "dastardly Japanese sneak attack" – as a prime example of the kind of "public myth" he specializes in creating and maintaining. Zelikow's close colleague and fellow neocon extremist Paul Wolfowitz has exhibited a lifelong obsession with the immense strategic value of Pearl Harbor. Wolfowitz has repeatedly cited a remark by Albert Speer to the effect that if Germany had been blessed with a Pearl Harbor it would have won World War II. Therefore, in the eyes of neocons such as Zelikow, FDR was wise to adopt McCollum's Eight Point Plan designed to force the Japanese to launch a sneak attack on America. (Stinnett, Day of Deceit, 6-11). Pearl Harbor was not just a godsend – it was a US-orchestrated event, and the 2,403 Americans murdered. They were murdered by the US government as well as the Japanese.
As Robert Stinnett has shown, the US High Command knew exactly when and where the attacks were coming, and intentionally left American sailors and Marines in harm's way so that their murder would enrage US public opinion and reverse the prevailing majority sentiment against entry into World War II. In other words, Pearl Harbor, like 9/11, was a human sacrifice used to initiate a war – a pattern that recurs throughout history.
Circumstantial evidence suggests that Philip Zelikow scripted that human sacrifice. Zelikow co-authored a 1998 article in Foreign Affairs speculating on the likely political, social, and psychological consequences of a new Pearl Harbor style terrorist event, such as the destruction of the World Trade Center.
Despite this smoking-gun evidence of his foreknowledge of 9/11, Zelikow was chosen by Cheney-Bush to run the 9/11 Commission. According to Philip Shenon, Zelikow had written all of the chapter outlines of The 9/11 Commission Report before the Commission even began its investigation. Zelikow completely controlled the investigation, ordering underlings to basically just fill in the chapter outlines of his pre-scripted novel. The Report became a "surprise bestseller" because it reads like a novel – which is exactly what it is.
The core story – the alleged plot by 19 alleged hijackers led by a guy on dialysis in a cave in Afghanistan – is supported by nothing remotely resembling evidence that would stand up in a court of law. If you follow the footnotes, you'll find that the whole thing is supposedly based on third-hand testimony taken under brutal torture from Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who apparently had to be waterboarded 183 times in one month in order to brainwash him into remembering and parroting the details of Zelikow's novel.
The million-dollar question: WHEN did Zelikow write his novel? My guess: The novel known as the 9/11 Commission Report is adapted from a made-for-TV disaster movie script – the script that was brought to life by covert operations professionals on September 11th, 2001. And who better to write a novel based on that script than the author of the script itself?
When Cheney and his Bush puppet picked Zelikow to write the 9/11 Commission Report, it was a strong indication that they were turning to the original author of the event – the specialist in the "creation and maintenance of public myths" who had created the official myth of 9/11 by authoring the script of the event.
Today, the 9/11 "public myth" has become a legend – a story that is no longer sacred, a story that more and more people doubt. Is Obama bringing Zelikow back on board in order to try to "maintain" the "public myth" of 9/11?
Zelikow is certainly the man for the job. Alongside his expertise, he has plenty of motivation: When the 9/11 public myth finally crumbles, he will soon find himself dangling from a rope, twisting slowly in the breeze.

I never went back and forth between crying and laughing so fast in my life. Great pic on the pics. And it is rigthteous, for sure. It broke my heart seeing the coal miners at the beginning. I come from a long line of coal miners. Both grandads dead from it...one so young, I never got to know him, and his sudden, early death scarred my father and his siblings for life.

Lupe Fiasco, Immortal Technique, The Yes Men and 9/11 first responders have joined the protest in New York City. There are rumours that Eminem is coming.Occupy Wall Street enters its second week amid talk of mainstream media blackout. Celebrities and American heroes have been showing up in New York, lending their support and hoping that their presense will galvanise the big name news outlets into reporting on the protest. The latest rumour is that Eminem has indicated he is on his way. The Academy award winning rapper won't be alone. An estimated 1,000 - 2,000 people are anticipated to join the march, at noon on September 24th 2011, including people from Liverpool, in Great Britain. Chart-topping rappers Lupe Fiasco and Immortal Technique have both shown their support for Occupy Wall Street this week. As well as marching with protesters through the streets, both men mingled with the crowds gathered in Zuccotti Park (renamed Liberty Plaza by those occupying it). They signed autographs and each stood up to speak to those assembled.

Occupy Wall Street: Protesters Violently Arrested in New York
Watched in real time by an international audience, New York's police officers moved in on Zuccotti Park. It was 7.20am, on September 20th 2011, and a light rain was falling over the 200-300 people camping out there. They had been there for four days, as part of the Occupy Wall Street protest. What began as a request from police, to remove tents and tarpaulin, ended in seven arrests. Onlookers claimed these were too violent.
The Global Revolution Livestream captured much of the incident, channeling the footage in real time to its 3000 plus viewers. In addition, some protesters were filming the arrests, then they uploaded their videos onto YouTube.
Why Were People Arrested in New York City's Zuccotti Park?
The Occupy Wall Street protesters had erected tents and draped tarpaulin over themselves and their supplies. Of particular concern was the food, water and electrical equipment, which could have been damaged in the rain. A police officer gave them five minutes to remove these covers, complaining that they constituted illegal structures. An on-site legal advisor informed demonstrators that this was only true of shelters which were attached to the trees. Police also demanded that signs be taken down.
Onlookers chanted, "The whole world is watching", then, as the tousling started, the message changed. Committed to a peaceful demonstration, protesters gave peace signs and spoke in unison, "Courtesy, professionalism and respect." The tents and tarpaulin were all taken by officers.
Protester Jason Ahmadi was filmed being dragged by his feet across the pavement by uniformed officers. His head was protected by his rucksack, which had been thrown upwards by the force of inertia. But his hands were cuffed behind him and they were shown grazed and bleeding by the camera. That wasn't the only problem. His face was ashen, but his one hand was growing purple, as the handcuffs cut too tightly.
"I could really do with some new cuffs here." He told anyone who would listen. "My hands hurt. I can't move my hands." Fellow protesters tried to intercede on his behalf, calling out to NYPD officers to loosen or change the handcuffs. They were still saying it as he was hoisted between two policemen and dragged, his legs sliding across the tarmac, into the van.
Asthma Sufferer Screams 'I Can't Breathe!' As Police Arrest Him
Mary-Ann McSherry rushed to help him, but was arrested herself. Meanwhile his voice held a tone of panicked hysteria, "I can't breathe! I can't breathe! I'm having an asthma attack!" Each sentence was punctuated by gasps. "I need my inhaler!" He was wrestled to the ground and two officers are clearly seen on film pressing down upon him.
In the crowds around, voices were raised in protest. "You're killing him!" Shrieked one, while an incredulous man demanded, "Is this why you wanted to wear a badge? To deny a kid his inhaler? Is it?" A policer officer assured onlookers that the boy would get his medication, as he joined colleagues in attempting to clear a space. A moment later, the boy was handcuffed and then came the calls for his inhaler. He was shown fervently catching his breath, sitting on the pavement, before being taken into the police van.
These arrests followed police action, on the evening of September 19th 2011, wherein the gas supplies and generator were confiscated. These had been used to power equipment used in transmitting film footage to the Global Revolution Livestream. The news scrollbar, on the stream, also stated that food deliveries had been denied access to the site.

"Contagion," a Hollywood thriller that opened last weekend, rocketed to No. 1 at the box office through its gripping tale of a fictional global epidemic driven by a new kind of virus. Audiences have gasped in horror at what happens to Gwyneth Paltrow.
Before it was out, the movie made real-life disease investigators anxious, too, though for a different reason: They had worried the filmmakers would take so many artistic liberties with the science that the result would be an incredible movie that was ... not credible.
Well, cue the applause.
"It's very plausible," said Dr. Thomas Frieden, head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which would investigate such an outbreak.
A new virus jumping from animals to humans? Nothing fictional about that. Global spread of a disease in a few days? In this age of jet travel, absolutely. A societal meltdown if things get bad? Plan on it.
But he also chafed at the idea that this kind of global epidemic won't occur just because we haven't seen one before. "Nobody expected Nipah. Nobody expected HIV. Nobody expected SARS," he said.

Feathers in amber reveal dinosaur diversity
WASHINGTON (AP) — In science fiction, amber preserved the DNA that allowed rebirth of dinosaurs in Jurassic Park. In real life, amber preserved feathers that provide a new image of what dinosaurs looked like.
"Now, instead of scaly animals portrayed as usually drab creatures, we have solid evidence for a fluffy colored past," reports Mark A. Norell of the American Museum of Natural History in New York.
Examples of ancient feathers ranging from the simple to the complex are now being studied. They were preserved in amber found in western Canada, researchers led by Ryan C. McKellar of the University of Alberta report in Friday's edition of the journal Science.
Amber, hardened tree resin, preserved a mixture of feathers from 70 million years ago. Other feathers contained in amber dating to 90 million years ago are less diverse.
Specimens include simple filament structures similar to the earliest feathers of non-flying dinosaurs — a form unknown in modern birds — and more complicated bird feathers "displaying pigmentation and adaptations for flight and diving," the researchers reported.
Indications of feathers have been found on much older fossils, and the new discoveries indicate feathers continued to develop into modern form before the extinction of dinosaurs, explained Norell, who was not part of the research team.
A separate report by Roy A. Wogelius of the University of Manchester, England, published online June 30 by Science, reports the finding of trace metals in feather fossils, suggesting their colors included black, brown and a reddish-brown.
"Despite many reports over the past decade of feathered dinosaurs and new birds from China, only now are we beginning to understand just how diverse feather types were" millions of years ago, Norell said.
